Tipi on Grounds
A tipi on loan from the Newfoundland Aboriginal Women’s Network (NAWN) was delivered to the grounds of Government House on September 6, 2018 , and put in place, by Cal White Jr., Mi’Kmaw from the Flat Bay Band.
2018 Garden Party
Their Honours hosted their first Garden Party at Government House on July 25, 2018.
Government House features a selection of historic pieces of furniture, some dating back to the 1800’s.
Yoga on the Lawn
Government House welcomed hundreds of visitors during the summer 2018 for a Wellness Break, hosted by Her Honour.

The Diamond Jubilee Portrait of Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II arrived at Government House on September 14, 2018 where it will be displayed for public viewing for the next six months.
Swearing In Ceremony
On May 3, 2018 Her Honour The Honourable Judy May Foote became the 14th Lieutenant Governor of Newfoundland and Labrador. Her Honour is the first female to be appointed to the role.
Trail of the Caribou Pilgrimage
Her Honour, Honorary Colonel of the Royal Newfoundland Regiment, joined Royal Canadian Legion members, veterans and students on the annual pilgrimage to Beaumont-Hamel, France, June 27 to July 4., 2018.
