Their Honours Joan Marie Aylward and Carl Thompson had an incredible afternoon at Government House in the company of approximately 300 visitors for the traditional New Year’s Day Levee on January 1st, 2024. As this was Their Honour’s first New Year’s Day Levee as Lieutenant Governor and consort, it was an exciting opportunity for them to welcome the community and wish them a Happy New Year in person. Performances by The Royal Newfoundland Regiment Jazz Combo and The Celtic Fiddlers, and festive holiday treats served by staff were enjoyed by all in attendance.
Thank you to all those who visited Their Honours for making their first New Year’s Day Levee so memorable, and to the performers, Aides-de-Camp, volunteers, Government House staff, family and friends for organizing & making all feel welcome in the People’s House.
