His Honour The Honourable Carl R. Thompson, K.C.

 

His Honour, The Honourable Carl R Thompson, K.C. grew up in Codroy Valley and St. John’s, attending St. Patrick’s Hall and Brother Rice.

His Honour received undergraduate education through the State University of New York and the University of Ottawa and completed Law School at Dalhousie University in Halifax.

While commencing his practice of law at O’Dea Green Neary and Puddister, His Honour served as Assistant Clerk in our House of Assembly. He later practiced law for twenty five years with Poole Althouse in Corner Brook.

During his time in Corner Brook, His Honour held numerous leadership roles. He served as the Chair of the Humber St. Barbe School Board and the Western Memorial Hospital Foundation, and was the Chief of Race at Marble Mountain for National and International FIS-certified Alpine Downhill Ski Race Competitions. Additionally, His Honour was a member of his Church Choir in Corner Brook.

His Honour recently retired as a Justice of the Supreme Court of Newfoundland and Labrador, General Division, after twenty one years of service. He is a recipient of the Queen Elizabeth II Golden Jubilee Medal.
