Guided Tours

Government House offers free guided tours on weekdays, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., by advance booking only. Tours will last approximately 45 minutes.

The tour provides visitors with a glimpse of the main floor of Government House. Visitors will view the Main Foyer, the Ballroom, the Drawing Room, the Dining Room and the Cochrane Room.

During July and August, there are in-person tours available which do not require advance booking. Tours begin inside the front entrance of Government House. Tours are not offered on holidays when Government offices are closed.

Photography on Government House Grounds

Government House is often a photographic setting for weddings, graduations, and other milestone events.

Photography sessions on the grounds at Government House must be scheduled in advance, and certain conditions of use will apply, such as:

• Bookings are for one hour. Please be mindful of your arrival and departure times as other groups may be booked before or after you.
• Buses may not enter the grounds.
• Consuming alcohol on the grounds is not permitted.
• There is no smoking.
• Washrooms are not available.
