On Tuesday, 29 June 2010, at 3:00 p.m., His Honour the Honourable John C. Crosbie, Lieutenant Governor of Newfoundland and Labrador, on behalf of the Institute of Public Administration of Canada, will present the Lieutenant Governor=s Award for Excellence in Public Administration to The Honourable Edward Roberts, CM, ONL, QC, in a Ceremony at Government House. Following the Ceremony, His Honour and Her Honour Jane Furneaux Crosbie will host a Reception for invited guests.

On Wednesday, 30 June 2010, at 7:30 p.m., The Lieutenant Governor, Honorary Colonel of The Royal Newfoundland Regiment, will be a guest of Lieutenant-Colonel F.A. Brennan, CD, Commanding Officer of the 1st Battalion The Royal Newfoundland Regiment, at the Beaumont Hamel Mess Dinner, to be held at the Fort Pepperrell Mess Annex, Pleasantville.

Thursday, 1 July 2010

On Thursday, 1 July 2010, at 11:00 a.m., Their Honours will attend the Memorial Day Service at the National War Memorial in St. John’s. His Honour will lay the first wreath. Her Honour will lay a wreath on behalf of the Women’s Patriotic Association (1914-1918). After the Ceremony, The Lieutenant Governor will take the salute, at the Court House on Water Street, from the Royal Newfoundland Regiment and other units of the Canadian Armed Forces and from members of the Royal Canadian Legion and other organizations on Parade.

Immediately following the ceremony at the War Memorial, the Royal Newfoundland Regiment will parade the old colours to Government House for a Laying-up of Colours Ceremony, followed by a Reception at Government House for invited guests.
