On Tuesday, 13 October 2009, at 10:00 a.m., His Honour the Honourable John C. Crosbie, Lieutenant Governor of Newfoundland and Labrador, will receive members of Newfoundland and Labrador Command of The Royal Canadian Legion at Government House, where he will sign a proclamation designating November 1st to November 11th as "Remembrance Period".

On Thursday, 15 October 2009, at 5:30 p.m., The Lieutenant Governor and Her Honour Jane Furneaux Crosbie will be guests of Dr. Christopher Loomis, President and Vice-Chancellor Pro Tempore of Memorial University of Newfoundland, at a pre-lecture Dinner in honour of Dr. Theodore Dalrymple, at the Senior Common Room, R. Gushue Hall, Memorial University. Following the dinner, at 7:30 p.m., Their Honours will attend the 2009 John Kenneth Galbraith Lecture in Public Policy, to be delivered by Dr. Dalrymple, in the Inco Innovation Centre Lecture Theatre.

On Friday, 16 October 2009, at 2:00 p.m., The Lieutenant Governor, Honorary Chair of the Provincial Council for The Duke of Edinburgh=s Award Program in Newfoundland and Labrador, and Mrs. Crosbie will attend a Ceremony at St. Pius X Church where His Honour will present Duke of Edinburgh’s Silver Awards of Achievement.
