On Monday, 29 June 2009, at 2:00 p.m., His Honour the Honourable John C. Crosbie, Lieutenant Governor of Newfoundland and Labrador and Honorary Chief of Police, will participate in the “Passing of the Reins” Ceremony to welcome the Royal Newfoundland Constabulary’s newest mount “Dobbin”, at the RNC Stables. Following the Ceremony, he and Her Honour Jane Furneaux Crosbie will host a Reception for invited guests at Government House.

On Tuesday, 30 June 2009, at 7:30 p.m., His Honour, Honorary Colonel of The Royal Newfoundland Regiment, will be a guest of Lieutenant-Colonel F.A. Brennan, CD, Commanding Officer of the 1st Battalion The Royal Newfoundland Regiment, at the Beaumont Hamel Mess Dinner, to be held at the Fort Pepperrell Mess Annex, Pleasantville.

Wednesday, 1 July 2009

On Wednesday, 1 July 2009, at 11:00 a.m., The Lieutenant Governor and Mrs. Crosbie will attend the Memorial Day Service at the National War Memorial in St. John’s. His Honour will lay the first wreath. Her Honour will lay a wreath on behalf of the Women’s Patriotic Association (1914-1918). After the Ceremony, Mr. Crosbie will take the salute, at the Court House on Water Street, from the Royal Newfoundland Regiment and other units of the Canadian Armed Forces and from members of the Royal Canadian Legion and other organizations on Parade.

At 2:00 p.m., Their Honours will attend the Unveiling and Dedication Ceremony of the replica Beaumont Hamel Memorial Plaques at the Caribou Memorial in Bowring Park.

Following the Ceremony at the Caribou Memorial, The Lieutenant Governor and Mrs. Crosbie will hold a Reception at Government House for invited guests.

On Thursday, 2 July 2009, at 2:00 p.m., His Honour will present Long Service Awards to Regular Members, Civilian Members and Public Service Employees of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police at a Ceremony at the RCMP Headquarters Building, White Hills.
