On Monday, 30 June 2008, at 7:30 p.m., His Honour the Honourable John C. Crosbie, Lieutenant Governor of Newfoundland and Labrador, will be a guest of Lieutenant-Colonel John Macdonald, Commanding Officer of the 1st Battalion The Royal Newfoundland Regiment, at the Beaumont Hamel Mess Dinner, to be held at the Fort Pepperrell Mess Annex, Pleasantville.

On Tuesday, 1 July 2008, at 11:00 a.m., The Lieutenant Governor and Her Honour Jane Furneaux Crosbie will attend the Memorial Day Service at the National War Memorial in St. John’s. His Honour will lay the first wreath. Her Honour will lay a wreath on behalf of the Women’s Patriotic Association (1914-1918). After the Ceremony, Mr. Crosbie will take the salute, at the Court House on Water Street, from the Royal Newfoundland Regiment and other units of the Canadian Armed Forces, and from members of the Royal Canadian Legion and other organizations on Parade. Following the parade, he and Mrs. Crosbie will hold a Reception at Government House for invited guests.
At 7:30 p.m., His Honour will be Presiding Officer at a Citizenship Ceremony hosted by Citizenship and Immigration Canada, Canadian Heritage and Parks Canada at Signal Hill National Historic Site.

On Friday, 4 July 2008, at 5:00 p.m., The Lieutenant Governor and Mrs. Crosbie will host a Reception at Government House for invited guests to mark the publication of “RAY GUY: The Smallwood Years” by Boulder Publications.
